Futura
ArtFutura,
the digital art and new media festival of reference in Spain, presented
its sixteenth edition at the Mercat
de les Flors in Barcelona. Whilst in the previous edition ArtFutura
covered the superposition of both the virtual and the physical world,
this year the festival explored the future of objects and environments
in the age of data flows.
The event offered workshops, conferences, performances, a wide exhibition
of drawings by Grangel Studio (“The
Corpse Bride") and three installations: "Desaparecen
primero las palabras" by Thomas Charveriat, "Fagus
se Desnuda" by Emiliano Labrador and "Human
All Rights Reserved" by Montse Arbelo and Joseba Franco.
In addition ArtFutura presented for the first time in Spain the
amazing “Strandbeest”
(Creatures of the Beach) by the Dutch Theo
Jansen: immense robotic sculptures that use wind power as a
source of energy.
